With friendly bar staff and management welcoming you from the moment you step in, The Oddfellows Arms embodies the spirit of hospitality.
This unique venue is a blend of a budget hotel and a lively pub, offering affordable accommodation that’s perfect for both solo travelers and groups alike. Guests often rave about the great sense of community here. Many have enjoyed engaging with locals and other travelers over a pint, sharing stories and laughter, especially during karaoke nights that add a sprinkle of entertainment to the atmosphere.
One key highlight is the incredible value for money. Reviews consistently mention the delicious breakfast selection, which features everything from traditional English fare like eggs and bacon to delightful pastries and cereals. The attention to detail, shown by the owner Peter, who goes out of his way to cater to dietary needs, is truly commendable.

Guest feedback emphasizes the warmth and kindness of the staff, with many travelers feeling right at home in the cozy rooms that offer everything you need for a restful stay. The location is another advantage, conveniently situated near a bus stop and a train station, making accessing Manchester City Centre a breeze.
In a world that often feels disconnected, The Oddfellows Arms offers an unparalleled sense of belonging. Whether you're enjoying a quiet evening with a drink in hand or participating in lively karaoke, this place promises memorable experiences. If you're looking for a warm welcome and community spirit, I highly recommend a visit to The Oddfellows Arms. It’s a place where you can create lasting memories while exploring the vibrant city of Manchester.
“ From the minute I arrived I was greeted by friendly bar staff and management. After being shown to my room and unpacking I went to the bar where I spent sometime talking to the locals who were very welcoming and friendly. Karaoke was great to watch. I would highly recommend the Oddfellows to anyone who wishes to stay ”
“ One of the best, rather the best budget hotel in Manchester on a main bus route connecting Bolton and Manchester. Also, not far from the train station. There is a sense of community to the pub downstairs frequented by locals, and very lively too. Peter, originally an Irish, who runs the place, is very friendly, welcoming, organised, and does his best to keep the place tidy. Peter has a decent knowledge of the nice places around Manchester where one could go for a short day trip. The staff was very nice too. There is a great chance that one would bump into nice people coming from all the different places and make good friends here. Such people and such places are very rare these days! ”
“ Stayed here for a night as a solo traveler. Expect to share a bunk bed with friendly roommates from all over the world. For the price, the service was great, and there was no issue from me at all. The people at Oddfellows were friendly and wonderful, offering recommendations on places to visit and eat. The pub was nice too, and I enjoyed a pint at a great price while watching the Euros football. They also serve breakfast, frying up food on the spot, with cereals, milk, and tea provided as well. All in all, if you’re looking for a cheap, quick stay and don’t mind sharing a dorm-like room with 3-4 other people, this is the place for you. ”
“ What a great night! The kareoke has been run by the same couple for years and they still do a great job. Drinks are plenty and reasonably priced. The accommodation was excellent value for money, it would be hard to find cheaper and you get breakfast too. Lovely landlord (he went out to get gf products for my breakfast), great staff, can't fault it ”
“ Would thoroughly recommend! Extremely reasonably priced rooms. Comfortable bed. Nice and warm in room. The breakfast selection was outstanding for a continental selection. Great choices ranging from eggs/bacon to pancakes/pain au chocolats, bagels and brioche. The owner, Peter, goes above and beyond for guests and makes you feel very welcome. Two fellow guests are checking out early tomorrow and Peter has said breakfast will be out early for them which I thought was very kind considering he must be up till the early hours with the running of the pub. Great detail on the room information card is provided to assist you with your stay. It feels like home from home at the Oddfellows arms. The pub has live music and entertainment most evenings. Also I believe the drinks are very reasonably priced. The location is also great with very easy access into Manchester City centre. Bus stop right outside which comes every 20 minutes. Also very close to swinton train station. Tonight I had dinner at a Chinese buffet up the road which was incredible value for money. I would recommend this place for anyone visiting Manchester. Very very reasonable with lovely hosts. I would return here most certainly. Thank you. ”
“ Good experience. Peter is a nice guy with managed things in a professional way. ”
